Ingredients

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 cups mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 1 cup broccoli florets, chopped small
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat and add the onions, cooking them until translucent.
  3. Add the garlic and mushrooms, cooking until the mushrooms release their moisture and begin to brown.
  4. Stir in the broccoli and cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.
  5. Remove the skillet from the heat, let it cool slightly, then mix in the cheddar cheese and season with salt and pepper.
  6. Cut the puff pastry sheet into 12 equal squares.
  7. Place a spoonful of the mushroom mixture in the center of each square.
  8. Bring the corners of each square together and pinch to seal, forming a bundle shape.
  9. Brush each bundle with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  10. Bake them for 18-20 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
