10. Grand Marnier Souffle

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon butter (for ramekins)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for ramekins)
  • 4 eggs, separated
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons Grand Marnier liqueur
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and butter the ramekins. 
  2. Dust the inside of the ramekins with granulated sugar.
  3. Warm the milk in a small pan and whisk in the all-purpose flour until smooth.
  4. In a bowl, whisk the egg yolks and the remaining granulated sugar until pale. 
  5. Stir in the warm milk, Grand Marnier, and orange zest.
  6. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  7. Gently fold the egg whites into the yolk mixture in two additions at a time, keeping everything airy.
  8. Spoon the mixture into the prepared ramekins. 
  9. Bake the ramekins in the oven for 14–16 minutes, until the soufflé has risen.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately.
